Carnicom Institute : Morgellons Research Project

Phase II

Community Health Professional Network

Carnicom Institute is now inviting health professionals, practitioners, researchers and advocates to participate in serving public needs as they relate to the "Morgellons" health condition. The goal of this project is to develop a network of qualified professionals that collectively understand the impact of this condition upon public health and that seek to improve the quality of life for affected individuals.

The first phase of the Morgellons Research Project by Carnicom Institute has now been completed. This completed phase incorporates an extensive public online survey and questionnaire on the Morgellons condition. A large body of information regarding symptoms and effects of the condition is now at hand and will steadily be made available to this network as well as the to the public.

The structure of the network will commence with the the desire to develop a listing, or directory, of qualified practitioners from a comprehensive array of health modalities. The invitation to join the network is also extended to anyone that can professionally advocate, communicate and facilitate this endeavor. The directory will include contact information, experience and practice history, qualifications and interest in serving the goals of the project. Carnicom Institute will have a role in establishing and maintaining the integrity of the network such that the public interests are served.

The focus of this project is one of public service, not private practice. The network is not to serve as an advertising campaign for disjointed or personal interests. Practitioners are, however, welcome and encouraged to develop their own client-patient relationships external to this site. Participants in the network should have an understanding or interest in the unique characteristics of the Morgellons condition, and the primary motivation should be one of helping people. CI reserves the right to determine the inclusion and exclusion of participants within the project.

Carnicom Institute is operating this research project under an Institutional Review Board (IRB) under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
