It is generally perceived that the so-­called "Morgellons" issue is primarily, if not exclusively, a human actually represents a fundamental change in the state condition. It is not. It will be found that this condition evidence now indicates and demonstrates that there and nature of biology as it is known on this earth. The is, at the heart of the "condition", a new growth form that transcends, as a minimum, the plant and animal boundaries.

Some of the work that has been done previously will also be incorporated into and repeated within this section; much of this work remains especially valuable and relevant here as well. We now have a puzzle before all of us. We are likely to have some of the pieces that make up the whole, but we must all work on putting the pieces together. Infrared spectrometry alone cannot do this; additional resources, execution and smart thought will be required. The earlier this puzzle is solved in detail, the better we will all be for it. I can only ask you to join in the crusade. Until that necessary level of understanding is achieved, I will continue to offer my own interpretations below. The discussion will progress through generalized structural interpretations, possible and projected health impacts, and the review of various strategies that may be worthwhile of consideration for mitigation of the anticipated and observed effects of the condition. It will again be emphasized and expressed that no medical advice or diagnosis is to be given here; each individual MUST pursue the counsel and advice of their own chosen health practitioner. It has been established, through rather painstaking processes over a period of several years, that primary constituents of the growth form are comprised of both iron and amino acids.  The methods to achieve this have been described in detail on previous reports.  The essence of impact to health has also been discussed at length, namely, that if these elements are used by the organism for its own growth then those same nutrients are being denied to the human host that supports the invasive growth.  Your iron is at the core of your respiration and hence of all energy transfer within your body; proteins are the structural framework that allows your body to exist and grow.  The absconding of both iron and amino acids (i.e., proteins) from the human body is by itself of sufficient damage to warrant a full and dedicated allocation of resources to this problem; this has not happened to date.  This information has, however, been very useful to develop an entire host of strategies to mitigate this damage and these have been discussed on this site.  There remains much to do.

This paper seeks to identify a host of organic compounds that are likely to comprise the core physical structure of biologically produced filaments characteristic of the Morgellons condition.  A biological oral filament sample will be analyzed for the presence of candidate organic functional groups using the methods of infrared spectrophotometry.  Potential health impacts from these same core structures are examined and compared to the observed , reported and documented symptoms (in part) of this same condition.  Potential mitigating strategies, from a research perspective only, are discussed. A body of evidence, accumulated over a period of several years, reveals that the Morgellons condition is likely characterized by a host of serious physiological and metabolic imbalances.  These imbalances are caused by the  disruption of a variety of major body processes including, as a minimum, the regulation of metabolism by the thyroid, potential liver enlargement, a decrease of oxygen in the circulatory system, the utilization of amino acids important to the body, the oxidation of iron and a potential impact to neural pathways.  The impact of this degradation to human health can be concluded to be serious, debilitating and potentially lethal in the cumulative sense; the reports of those who suffer from the condition are in alignment with these conclusions.  This paper will summarize the body of work and chronology which leads to this more comprehensive hypothesis.

The Carnicom Institute is embarking on a first of its kind study of the Morgellons condition often referred to as Morgellons Disease. The project will start with a questionnaire process, and this is in progress at this time. Subsequent developments of data collection and/or clinical studies may develop in the future depending upon support and resources.

Testing on two canine blood samples (microscopy pictures of the canine blood cells are included on this page) sent to Clifford Carnicom reveal that both animals show the existence of the chlamydia-like organism within the blood and the serum in a fashion identical to that which has been repeatedly found in human blood samples. This research reveals that the consideration of biological symptoms, structures and characteristics of the Morgellons condition must now be extended to include other life forms beyond that of the human. At a minimum, this consideration now extends to the mammalian segment of the animal kingdom. There is additional research (external DNA examination and culture analyses) underway which suggests that this discovery may extend further to include the plant kingdom or the food supply; further examinations are required to clarify the initial findings.

MORGELLONS : AN ENVIRONMENTAL SOURCE

A continuing discussion of the characteristics of filament samples discovered by Clifford Carnicom and others is presented here. It is reiterated that an environmental source, at least in part, for specific biological organisms that are under scrutiny in association with the so-called "Morgellons" condition, has been identified. This source is the unusual airborne filament sample that was sent in June of 2000 to the Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for identification on behalf of the public welfare. This particular and same sample that was sent to the EPA has been successfully cultured and reproduced, and the culture growth exhibits the identical biological organisms, structure and chemistry of certain biological filaments that are under extensive study in association with the Morgellons condition. The different cultured structures discussed above are described and pictured within this work as well. They are: 1) An encasing filament structure (containing an internal network of sub-micron filaments) 2) A chlamydia-like organism (Chlamydia pneumonia) 3) A pleomorphic form (Mycoplasma-like) 4) An erythrocytic form (red blood cell).

On this page, Clifford Carnicom explores the distinct possibility that observed and measured saline stress on plants and trees in the southwest United States is coming from the metals and salts being found in the aerosols that are continuing to be researched. This paper raises some questions that deserve fair consideration with respect to the massive global effects from the aerosol operations on observed plant and tree die-offs. Discussed here are some observed plant and tree die-offs in the southwest U.S. starting around the beginning of 1999, when the aerosol operations began to be observed en masse in this area. As well, ground conductivity testing at various altitudes is detailed from further Carnicom research around this same time. One of the die-off discussions centers on the local grasslands in the extremely dry southwest. A second discussion ensues regarding the major die-off of the Pinyon Pines species in this same area. Though there are current theories to explain these situations, the salination of the soils appears to be a main cause. Conductivity readings (and correspondingly, ion concentrations) seem especially high in these areas of die-off. It has already been reported in previous Carnicom papers that the expected effect from the introduced aerosols is to heat up the lower atmosphere, and not to cool it as many have attempted to promote under the guise of a secret but benevolent motive. Under the best of circumstances it can only be determined that the aerosols will aggravate the drought and warming problems, if not actually induce these very conditions. Reduced forage productivity is already expected in part from the specific heat and desiccation properties of the aerosols.

CONDUCTIVITY: The Air, The Water, and The Land

Clifford Carnicom discusses a series of conductivity tests conducted on recent heavy snowfall samples collected in New Mexico and Arizona in 2005, which have refocused attention on the electrolytic, ionic and conductive properties of environmental samples in connection with the aerosol operations. This report has been received and documents unusually high levels of calcium and potassium within a rain sample, where previous work has demonstrated unexpected levels of barium and magnesium. Discussion in this work ensues and outlines conductivity testing on these samples, where conductivity is a means to measure the ionic concentration within a solution. Conductivity is proportional to ionic concentration, and the results of this testing shows the increased conductivity of the atmosphere from having these salts dispersed in the aerosol operations. This discussion also describes the difficulty of performing conductivity testing because of the concept of 'ohmic heating', extrapolates the testing results to calculate the volume of these ionic salts within the regional atmosphere, and considerations to what the implications are of having these elements in our air, land and water.
